Customer Portal Custom Domain
In this article
Give your customer portal an address under your own domain, such as portal.yourshop.com . The customer portal gives customers a place to review orders, approve artwork, view invoices, and track shipments.
Paid plans include custom domains; check your subscription in Configuration > Billing. You'll need access to your domain's DNS settings.
Add a CNAME at your DNS provider
Choose a subdomain such as portal or customer . Adding a subdomain CNAME only affects that specific subdomain, leaving your main website and email untouched. For portal.yourshop.com , add a CNAME record named portal with the target domain.yoprint.com. In your DNS host, the name field may be labeled Host or Name, and the target may be labeled Value, Points to, or Target. This directs that address to YoPrint, which provides and manages the SSL certificate automatically.
At your DNS provider
Add this record in the account that manages your domain's DNS. Common DNS providers include GoDaddy, Cloudflare, and Namecheap. If you use GoDaddy, follow its Add a CNAME record guide. For another provider, use its CNAME instructions. Then return to YoPrint with the full address you chose, such as portal.yourshop.com .
Add the CNAME in GoDaddy
In GoDaddy
These steps happen in GoDaddy. Its screens may have changed since these pictures were taken. See GoDaddy's current Add a CNAME record guide if the layout differs.
-
In your GoDaddy account, select the domain you want to use.

-
Open DNS for that domain.

-
Click Add New Record.

-
Save a CNAME record with Name set to your chosen subdomain, such as
portal, and Value set todomain.yoprint.com. Leave TTL at the default setting, which controls how quickly updates spread.
Return to YoPrint with the complete address, such as portal.yourshop.com . GoDaddy says DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to update globally, but you can safely close YoPrint while waiting.
Enter the domain in YoPrint
-
In the top navigation, open Configuration.

-
Choose Settings. YoPrint opens Settings > Overview.

-
Select Overview in the sidebar if you are on another settings page.

-
Under Company Details, click Edit beside Customer Portal Domain. If your plan does not include custom domains, the card shows Upgrade to configure instead of Edit.

-
Replace your default address in Domain Name with the full subdomain, without
https://.
-
Click Save. YoPrint checks the domain before saving it. Once accepted, the dialog closes and the new address appears in the Customer Portal Domain card. Your default YoPrint portal address continues to work as a backup.
The Online badge on the Customer Portal Domain card means your custom domain's CNAME resolves to domain.yoprint.com . The Offline badge means it does not. Right after a DNS change, Offline usually means the change has not spread yet. This can take up to 48 hours, depending on your domain registrar. YoPrint checks the status each time you open or reload Settings > Overview.

If the domain is not accepted
Check that the CNAME uses the subdomain you entered and points to domain.yoprint.com . Allow time for your DNS change to take effect, then try saving again.
To change the address later, set up the new subdomain in DNS first, then return to Settings > Overview and click Edit in the Customer Portal Domain card.
The portal address and email sending domain are separate settings and must use different subdomains (such as portal.yourshop.com for the portal and email.yourshop.com for email). To send YoPrint emails from your own domain, follow Customize Email Sending Domain.
