Add setup as a separate fee

Use a fee when you want the customer to see a separate setup charge. Open the quote or order from Sales → Quotes and choose View from its More actions menu. Its quantity is the number of fees, not the number of garments. A separate fee appears as an explicit line item on the customer's quote.

1. On the job in the quote or sales order, click Fee.

   

2. Enter a clear Name, such as Screen setup.

   

3. Set Quantity to 1 for a one-time setup fee. Use a higher count for multi-screen setups charged per screen.

   

4. Enter the setup amount in Unit Price.

   

5. Add a Description Visible to Customer (optional) if the charge needs an explanation.

   

6. Click Add and Close.

   

The fee appears as a separate line item. Add and Keep Open is the alternative when you have another fee to enter.

Change or remove the fee

7. On a published quote or order, click Live Edit under Line Items.

   

8. Clear the existing amount completely, then enter the new Unit Price. The same row also has its name and quantity.

   

9. Click Save and Close.

   

10. To remove a saved fee, reopen Live Edit under Line Items.

11. To remove an unwanted fee in the editor, click its trash icon. This is the red Remove button at the end of the row.

12. Click Save and Close to save the removal.

Include setup in the unit price

A Flat rate per job service spreads the setup amount across the job's products instead of adding a separate fee row. Choose one approach for the same charge so you do not charge setup twice. It divides the setup charge across products assigned to that service's print location, folding the cost into garment unit prices.

1. Close the quote drawer with its × button, then open Configuration in the top navigation.

   

2. Choose Services.

   

3. Click New service.

   

4. Name the service, such as Screen setup (flat).

   

5. Under How is this service charged?, select Flat rate per job. This choice is fixed after the service is created, so create a new service if you switch charging models.

   

6. Name the first pricing column, such as 1 screen.

   

7. In the row starting at order size 1, enter the total setup price for that option. This example uses 14.

   

8. For another option, click Add column at the right of the table.

   

9. Name the second column, such as 2 screens.

   

10. Enter that option's total price. At 14 per screen, two screens cost 28.

11. Select the product locations where this service can be used, such as Shirt - Front.

12. Click Save and close.

Add the service to the job

13. Return to Sales → Quotes, open the quote, and click the job's name to open its details.

14. Under Services, click Service.

15. Open the Service picker.

16. Choose your setup service.

17. Open Service Options.

18. Choose the option that matches the job, such as 2 screens.

19. Open Location.

20. Choose the print location.

21. Click Save. The setup service is now part of the job's pricing.

How the flat rate becomes a unit price

With a single price row starting at 1, the same setup total applies as the item count changes. The service divides that total by the number of items.

For a 14 setup price at one print location:

For the 2 screens option priced at 28, the table amount is 28 before it is divided across the items. Option names are labels for your team; the price entered in each column determines the charge.
