Override Line Item Pricing

Use a pricing override to change one product line in a quote or sales order. An override sets a fixed price for this line only, without changing your catalog or pricing group rules. The unit price combines the product price and the service price for each piece. For example, a $12 product price plus an $8 service price gives a $20 unit price.

Change a line item's price

Start with the quote or sales order open for editing, with a product in its job. If the quote is already saved, click Live Edit above the line items.

1. Click the pencil beside the line's Unit Price.

   

2. Enter a Product Total to override the product price per piece. This sets the price for one unit rather than the extended line total. Leave it blank to use the calculated price.

   

3. Enter a Service Total to override the service price per piece. On jobs with multiple services, this overrides their combined total. Leave it blank to use the job's calculated service price.

   

4. If you need to correct the product's cost, enter it in Product Cost. The margin details show how the cost compares with your selling price.

   

5. Click Apply. Save the job to calculate the updated unit price and line total.

   

A warning triangle beside the price indicates an override in the editor; the saved quote view shows a warning circle. To discard changes before applying them, click Cancel.

6. Hover over the unit price to see the product cost, product price, service price, product margin and product markup.

   

Remove a price override

If the quote is already saved, click Live Edit above the line items.

1. Click the pencil beside the line's Unit Price again.

   

2. Click Clear All to remove the line's price and cost overrides. To remove just one, use Clear beside that field. Clearing a single field returns that amount to its calculated value while keeping other overrides.

   

3. Click Apply. Save the job to recalculate the line. The warning triangle disappears when no overrides remain.
